If you are looking at my website for the first time, you may be wondering exactly what I do and what services I provide. Here’s an overview to give you an idea:
- Childbirth Education: I believe that learning about your body, and the natural process of childbirth that God has designed, can make an incredible difference in your birth experience. If you understand what is going on, and how you can help, you help eliminate the fear that can make the pain and discomfort so much greater. With this in mind, I offer classes to help educate parents on the whole process of pregnancy, labor and childbirth. Private classes can be arranged at your convenience, and group classes are scheduled depending upon the level of interest. Contact me if you are interested in receiving information about the next available class!
- Doula Services: Specifically for those desiring a natural birth in a hospital setting. After establishing a relationship with you, I am available to help you labor in your home while monitoring your progress and the baby’s health, and helping you to determine when to go in to the hospital. At the hospital, I assist you as a couple in working together, and providing comfort measures and helping you to achieve some of the things that are important to you. After the birth, I am available for contact and to help answer any questions you might have.
- Midwifery Services: For those who choose me as their midwife, I provide you with support and availability throughout your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. I provide your prenatal care, care and monitoring throughout your labor and delivery (which occurs in your home or the home of someone close to you), and then care throughout the postpartum period.
